Baking sense of design...........
Creative workshop from Level 4 students....cakes, pastries and bread.....all made from card, paper, glue and paint. Extremely tasty and very low on calories!!!
Creative Culture.....
Level 6 Graphic Design students visited some of
Manchester's finest design, branding, advertising and creative agencies and
studios with a view to gaining insight into industry expectations including
portfolios, employability, work placements, personal promotion and the do's and
dont's if you want to succeed.
The studios delivered
insightful, inspirational and entertaining presentations and took
time from their extremely busy schedules to outline their great work and show
students around the busy studios - whilst at the same time sharing experiences
and advice in order to help with getting that first creative 'foot in the
door'.
Within each studio they also managed to get first hand
guidance and advice from Staffordshire graduates Sian Ford (Havas Lynx), Gary
Devreede (Reform), Will Teal and Harry Heptonstall (Love) and Mike Emerson
(The
Chase).
Huge thanks go to all of the studios and agencies and
the staff who were suddenly joined by 27 inquisitive third year students!
Additional thanks to those who presented, were very patient and shared
invaluable advice - and made the trip a great experience!
Havas Lynx - John McPartland, Aimee Stapleton &
Trevor Johnson
